Introduction to Media and Information Literacy - Policies, Security, Netiquette

Policies, Security, Netiquette

Today we learned about different policies, securities, and netiquettes online.

Our lesson is divided into to two; Edmodo's Acceptable Use Policy and appropriate online behavior. These parts simply tell the acts that a person should and should not do online.

The actions that a person should not do include the violation of any law or regulation, harassment or threatening of other people, jeopardizing the security of accounts, and steal other's properties.

The actions the a person should do include thinking before sharing, being polite, speaking up, adjusting the privacy settings of one's account, keeping information private, and being cautious on visiting websites.

Creative Commons helps  to enable lawful collaboration to make actions online such as copying, sharing, and remixing. Creative Commons provides free copyright licenses to share one's work.

"Our work is to build a vibrant, usable commons powered by collaboration and gratitude." - Ryan Merkley, CEO of Creative Commons
